Teach For Malaysia
Teach For Malaysia is an independent, not-for-profit organisation enlisting Malaysia’s most promising future leaders in our mission to end education inequity. Teach For Malaysia Fellowswill serve as full-time teachers for two years in high-need schools ,and committo transform the education outcomes of less-privileged schoolchildren, throughsignificantly improving their achievements and aspirations. In the long term,Teach For Malaysia Ambassadors would form a different class of leaders, workingin various fields to expand education opportunity for all children in Malaysia.
Locally,Teach For Malaysia is being incubated by Khazanah Nasional and is receiving widespread support from top-tier organisations inMalaysia and the Ministry of Education.
Teach For Malaysia has also beenidentified by the PSD as a Scholarship Talent Attraction and Retention (STAR)programme which allows scholars to serve their bonds by working in leadingcompanies to drive the ETP.
Our first cohort of 50 Fellows were recently approved by theMinistry of Education and will begin teaching in 17 schools in Kuala Lumpur,Selangor and Negeri Sembilan in January 2012. The majority of our successful applicants came from U.S. universities such as Harvard, University of Michigan, Universityof San Francisco, State University of New York and many more.For more details, go to:
